Dominick Guida is a studio and plein air painter based in NYC and upstate Schoharie County.

“I have always painted the landscape. For me landscape includes whatever is in front of me including the urban, rural, sea, figures; anything my environment provides. After a 20 year exploration of abstraction that was rooted in landscape I felt a need to return to figuration and recognizable imagery.”

A native New Yorker, Dominick Guida grew up in the town of Oyster Bay, Long Island. He spent 10 years in Southern California and received a BFA degree from Chouinard Art Institute of the California Institute of the Arts. He moved back to New York and was selected as a resident fellow at the Edward Albee Foundation in Montauk. After two years in Montauk and a move back to New York City he became a member of PS122 (Painting Space) where he maintains a studio.
